SMS Service Costs | Communic8 Help Center

Service fees are charged per SMS sent. The number of SMS needed to send a message is determined by the byte-size of the content, which is related to the character encoding required and the number of characters. A single SMS can contain a maximum of 140 bytes, which is equal to 140 ASCII (1-byte) characters, or 70 UCS-2 (2-byte) characters. Where content byte-size exceeds the 140 byte-size limit for a single SMS, multiple SMS will be used to send the entire message.

The Client’s SMS account must be pre-paid (Australian dollars) prior to sending SMS. The Client cannot send SMS that exceed the SMS account budget. Taxes apply. The Client can top-up the SMS account by contacting their Account Manager.

If a service fee exceeds the stated rate for any requested SMS, Communic8 will reject the sending of the SMS in this instance. This will prevent the risk of excess charges.

Please note that pricing is subject to change, based on carrier fees and the USD to AUD mid-market exchange rate at the time of carrier billing. Vendor will use reasonable endeavours to provide prior notice of any pricing change. Local taxes apply and are in addition to the service fees (as amended).
